Punch Wali Chutney!!

Sometimes you just read a recipe and you want to try it ASAP!

Did this happen to you? It happened to me few hours ago.

Just before serving dinner tonight, 

I saw my SIL shared a chutney/achaar recipe on Facebook. 

This recipe looked so simple & tempting, 

I couldn't stop myself from trying it right then! 

It is called 'Roasted Tomato Chutney'. I am sure many of you know this recipe already or tried it earlier, but it was a first time for me and I totally loved it!! Waiting for dinner because of that chutney was worth it!! 

So I thought of sharing with all my lovelies asap! :)

"Roasted Tomato Chutney"

Ingredients:

(quantity of ingredients depends on your taste! 

I made just a little to try)

Tomato

Garlic

Green Chilly

Salt

Process:

Roast tomato on flame/coil

Crush green chillies and garlic in a mortar and pestle.

(i used more garlic than chilly)

Remove the burnt skin from tomatoes 

and roughly crush along with the green chillies and garlic.

Mix well and season with salt.

Serve & Enjoy!

This simple chutney can add that 'punch' to any simple food.

The hotness of chilly, strong flavor of garlic, tanginess of tomato and the roasted effect did the magic!

Guacamole Grilled Sandwich!

Healthy+Easy+Quick+Tasty Breakfast!

and of course for my love for Avocados!!!

Recently I shared Avocado Parathas!

Did anyone try those? Like it?

It was a typical lazy sunday for me today and I was thinking about quick but different breakfast. G is ever ready to have Poha (which I never made perfectly yet *sob-sob*) and I never liked it!! So after giving dear G his Poha with cold coffee, I decided to try this new recipe. Took risk though, but one of the yummiest sandwich I made!! **smiles**

Well here goes another quick breakfast recipe!

INGREDIENTS:

**For Guacamole:

• Nice Riped Avocado (roughly mashed) - 1
• Onion (finely diced) - 1/4th of a medium onion
• Tomato (finely diced) - 1 little salad tomato
• Green Chilly or Jalapeño (finely chopped) - to taste
• Fresh Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) - to taste
• Lime/Lemon Juice - 1/2 Tbsp
• Salt - to taste
• Crushed Black Pepper - to taste
• note: adding little minced garlic enhance taste

**4 Slice White Bread (you can use brown too for even healthier version)

Little Butter for buttering bread slices

METHOD:

• To make the guacamole; cut avocados in half. Remove seed. Scoop out avacado from the peel, put in a bowl. Using a fork, mash the avocado. Add rest of the ingredients and mix well.
• On your sandwich maker/grill/griddle; place buttered bread slices, spread guacamole, cover with another buttered bread slice and cook. note: you may also top your guacamole with grated cheese of your choice, I avoid cheese so didn't use it.
• Enjoy hot grilled sandwich with tomato ketchup :)

I usually enjoy my Sandwich with either Cold Coffee or Cold Choco Milk!

Jewelry organizing tips! Everyone of us need it someday.

Mine were getting tangled and lost in a big box. Many of them were getting spoiled as well. So I started looking for organizing options and I was amazed to see so many ideas!

Some nice ideas for organizing your collection!

Keep items in sight

Beat the morning rush by keeping jewelry organized in such a way that it’s easy to see your everyday pieces, such as countertop accessories, organizers that hang from closet rods or racks mounted to the wall. Special occasion pieces can be stored elsewhere, out of sight so they remain protected from dust.

Necklaces

It’s best to store necklaces individually so that they don’t get tangled (this will also help you spot the one you’re looking for more easily).

Earrings

You definitely want to keep earrings stored in their own compartments, either in a drawer or an organizer that hangs from a hook or closet rod. Dangly earrings are best stored in a way that allows them to hang freely. Keep a stash of extra earring backs close by for emergencies.

Bracelets

Because they don’t tangle as easily as necklaces, you can choose to hang bracelets from countertop organizers or compartmentalize them in drawers or trays.

Bangles

Oversized, chunky bangles can pose a storage challenge because they don’t fit in standard sized jewelry boxes or trays. Consider using a paper towel holder that you can use to store them in a stack!

All organized finally!!!

Nursery Ideas!!

Nurseries are the best rooms in home to plan & decorate! 

Have a spare room? Great!! Don't have? No worries! 

Same ideas can be converted into Nursery Corner/Wall in your own Bedroom. The following ideas are really overwhelming! 

Choose the elements you like. And remember, there are alternative ideas if you like something but can't execute it. For instance if you like the different color/painting on the wall and can't paint for reasons like just can't paint or you are renting a place, etc...remember we have Decals for that!! 

Recently I read about a few Do's & Don'ts for nursery on HGTV.com. I never thought of some of these. So thought of sharing those with you all. 

• Newborns can only see black, white and gray. As their sight develops, the first color they recognize is red; however, avoid red in a nursery because it can create confusion to a newborn when it's the only color they see. 
• Softer tones, like blues, greens and pinks, begin to develop at the same rate so they're more pleasing to a newborn's eye.
• Adding a dimmer switch is an inexpensive way to change the mood when reading a bedtime story and can also help save on the electric bill.

A Diaper Bike!! variation to our very own Diaper Cake!

Something is surely in air that I have been hearing/reading the *good news* everywhere! Among friends & family in India, here in US, celebrities, etc...most of them having or about to have Baby! 

Wowww!! perfect reason to celebrate, to be creative!! Everyone has so many questions, regarding Baby Showers, Welcome Baby Parties, Decorating Nursery, Buying Baby Products, Maternity Fashion, even A Perfect & Stylish Diaper Bags!!

I have already shared a few Baby Shower/Welcome Baby ideas and got overwhelming response! So I thought of posting more detailed posts about these. 

To re-start, I'll share a tutorial of Diaper Bike, it's a variation of our very own Diaper Cake! Last weekend we friends threw a surprise Baby Shower for our friend! As always, all had super-fun!! And I made this Diaper Bike!

TUTORIAL FOR DIAPER BIKE

Materials:

34 Diapers, size1 (17 for each tier)

8" Round cake pan or similar shaped utensil/box

2 Large rubber bands

2 Receiving blankets

2 Bibs

1 Pair of socks or mittens

1 Baby bottle

2 Washcloth

1 Stuff Toy (optional)

Pins & Scissors

Decorative Ribbons (as per your design)

PROCESS:

Arrange diapers in pan as shown in pictures step-by-step

Should look like this when completed. 

Make sure the gap between each diaper is equal.

choose appropriate size of rubber-bands, I used bigger ones

Now using the rubber-band, hold all the diapers together in place

like this; when inside pan

take out gently and should look like this

make two tiers, same process

Wrap each tire with ribbon/s. 

Secure ribbon/s with pins; 

these diapers will be used later so we don't use any kind of adhesive.

Fold the first receiving blanket in half

now roll it as shown in pictures

after rolling, secure it with pin

Place the blanket through the tire opening

this will be the front tire

attach blanket to back tire as shown in pictures

Pull both ends of the blanket (following the arrows) 

to make sure the both tires are tight as well as the blanket. 

Not too tight but firm. This will hold the entire bike.

Now take the second blanket and repeat same process of rolling.

When rolled, insert it through the front tire; this will be the handle.

Rolling a washcloth around baby bottle is optional; 

it adds details to bike's headlight

Insert the bottle between handles.

Secure both handles together with small rubber band 

and wrap a washcloth for pretty look.

Place a small thick sheet to give a firm look to the handles; *optional*

Insert a tissue in socks/mittens to have firm look

Attach socks to handles

Place the bibs over tire.

Final look should be as shown in pic 29

Now just place the rider on bike!!

We are done!!!!
