Ananya's Toy Room, before and after

daughter and mom before the decor

Ananya, also called 'shaitanu', 'nanya', 'aanannyaa' by herself! Mom's darling, Dad's partner in all naughty kiddie stuff, loves Minnie Mouse. Ananya is my 2.5yrs old niece and I am her Sonam Maasi, who loves to play with her, pamper her. All maasis love that! Well this cute, adorable just out from the disney's princess's world girl wished to have her own little play area. So her mom and I, went to Michael's for all the accessories and crafting stuff. Well the guidelines my sister gave to me were:
  • decor should be removable and reusable
  • very colorful yet simple
  • if on wall, should be hung little higher so that Ananya shouldn't reach and break it..
  • just as pretty as her daughter, (I say, room cant be as pretty as Ananya, she is far prettier)
  • things which has to stay in that room
  • and of course, we cant put paint or something like that in apartments.

Well while working on this decor we remembered that we had bought few felt pieces too for some DIY stuffs, which we forgot. So now I'll do that soon and then add to the decor.

"It's fun, colorful and quirky.
It seems over the top and sometimes even disparate...
but it's all me. My love for my country, my culture, my people.
It's how I see colour and mood.
It's my take on life today!!"says Aarohi

Daily Dump Khamba

I was in class 7th when our school participated in National Children Science Congress 1999. With my team members/friends/class mates, we were the winners at district level, state level and went for final level competition in Mapusa, Goa. Our project was on Vermi-compost, an extremely organic way to turn daily household waste to powerful fertilizer for your own garden.
Why I m telling you about my school days??...Well, recently I came across this wonderful website Daily Dump which reminded me of these school days. Daily Dump helps you manage your household waste and convert it to useful high-quality compost. It's a brand that provide service, set of products and a green way of life.

Accent Chest Hunt...

Hey all...
How is the weekend going on??...
Well we have a longgg weekend here in USA, as July 4th is the Independence Day here.
Well coming back to the post, recently we were thinking a lot of having an accent chest for our living room. But haven't yet come up with something final. Still looking for good design, utility storage, should go with our dark chocolate colored sectional and of course the big word it should be 'in budget'. I saw some, so thought of sharing and having your feedback for options.
Have a look!

So let me know about your choices and also some ideas
and of course any other brand/place to get this from.
Take Care, enjoy your weekend!

Postage Stamps!

In the world of Emails, SMS, BBMs, Facebook, Twitter...we have forgotten our postal services. Well we do need it for a few official works, but that's when we 'NEED' it, else almost everything can be done on Internet. And with this amazing Postal Service, we forgot those beautiful postage stamps. Started with my maternal-aunts in their childhood, I continued to update that red stamp collection book. This reminded me while using US Postal Service. Around the world, different countries have different designs and layouts of postage stamps. Just thought of looking at some of the Indian Postage Stamps. There is a huge list of Indian postage stamps, see here. While searching for this post. I came across this amazing link which showcase stamps in India year by year, see here.
